I am happy to say that today I have accepted a job in my new field of work (education) with a small company in downtown Milan. 

The position is a step up from my past work (i.e. not entry-level) and it aligns well with the work I’ve done in the US, but with an international scope. 

I negotiated for flexibility in my work schedule so I can attend Italian language classes outside of work. 

Through Your Global Career I learned I’m sharper and more assertive than I thought! 

Originally I felt incapable of returning to the education industry after a 3 year hiatus. But after starting the YGC journey, I see that: 

1.    I still have my educator muscles, they just need a little flexing, and
2.    working in sales has prepared me for this adventure more than I thought. 

I became confident in networking and interviewing, rather than nervous.

Before Lynze I had no idea of the other tools and strategies for job searching, and Lynze has opened my world to new possibilities. 

It’s not just about sending your resume to a million places and hoping that one sticks. 

Your Global Career changed my mindset, armed me with tools and networking strategies, and sent me on a journey to a dream that I previously thought was impossible because of visas and language barriers. 

Also worth noting — YGC was less expensive than my original plan of spending my savings account to go teach English abroad for a year. And YGC will lead to a full-time career job with benefits and fair pay! 

So I am literally progressing my career, rather than pressing “pause”.

Now I am most excited for the adventure of immersing myself in the Italian culture– to navigate a new city, speak a new language, and make connections in a country that is fascinating to me!
