Before Your Global Career, I felt like moving abroad was not possible for me for a long time. 

I didn’t even seriously try because it didn’t seem like something I could do.

I kept it as a wish rather than a goal and never actively pursued jobs abroad. 

But then 2020 happened!

This is the first year I haven’t travelled for myself at all. 

Normally I can escape from the day to day by taking a trip and exploring the world. But not this year.

I was feeling so stuck, and then it hit me. Why not go for something different? Why not plan my abroad next step? 

One day, I saw an ad for Lynze and She Works Abroad. I knew this was the chance I needed to take. 

With the world spinning out of control it was time to take a chance on myself and go for something I really wanted! 

I joined Your Global Career thinking I would change jobs and go abroad in 1 or 2 years time.

But then, only a few weeks in, my company did some major layoffs due to COVID.

All of the sudden I needed to find a new job immediately! 😦

I am so glad I was already in the mode of career progression and had a great group of support around me. 

A few short weeks later, and I got a 100% remote position! 

One that will allow me to be location independent and live my dream of moving abroad!

I will spend 2021 scoping out new locations and then find a place to settle in 2022.

It was like it all happened for a reason. 

During this process I learned that I can be resilient and that one closed door is not the end of my journey.

There will be more doors, and I can keep pivoting to move in the right direction as long as I remain focused on my goal.

Today, I am so much more confident and in a great position with an amazing company.
