Before this program, I was convinced that in order to achieve my dream of a life abroad, I would have to sacrifice my dream career and dream lifestyle that came along with it.
I had been looking for jobs on and off for about 6 months and was coming up against a self-imposed departure date for my “just jump” plan.
After reading online articles I was convinced that the best, and sometimes the only way to get a job abroad, was the face-to-face face/word of mouth/walk into companies with your resume method.
I was feeling down on the possibilities and anxious about my methods but felt that was all I could do.
However, my anxiety for the “just jump” plan grew more and more after sending in applications and receiving NO feedback while my departure timeline grew closer.
I realized that I needed to get help before booking a 1 way ticket with only 90 days to find a job and get a visa!
I was Googling (I did a lot of unstructured research) and got extremely lucky for coming across Lynze’s Your Global Career program online.
When we spoke I realized that I was willing to take an uncalculated risk just to prove that I was committed to making my dreams happen.
I am celebrating that during the program I received an opportunity to work in Portugal! Which was my dream location.
Now I am in a place of choosing opportunities that make the most sense versus begging for any opportunity, good or bad.
As someone who prides themselves on planning and organization, that was the ultimate commitment, though not the smartest move to make.
And, I could hear how my “just jump” plan sounded coming out of my own mouth.
Lynze helped me see that was so much more I could do without taking such a major risk.
I decided to join Your Global Career because I thought that if I was as committed to this dream as I say so, why wouldn’t I take advantage of an opportunity to put myself in the best position to make my dream a reality?

It took me securing this dream to actually realize that now that I had it, I wanted something different. So, I secured another opportunity. This time in Dubai!
I am celebrating making informed decisions once opportunities are fleshed out; including passing on offers if they are not what is best.
Now I am in a place of choosing opportunities that make the most sense versus begging for any opportunity, good or bad.
My journey taught me that confidence is key!
It’s hard to excel in a career here in the States without exuding confidence but it is 10x more necessary when you are telling a hiring manager that you are missing out if you do not hire me and hire a local instead.
I am thankful for this journey because it showed me that I had a right to be confident in myself. This journey forces you to look not only at your goals and your dreams, but to look at all that you bring to the table even if you haven’t thought of something as a skill before.
It is incredible to see in one place all that you could offer a company or organization, especially when you don’t consider yourself as much of an asset as you really are.
The most impactful part of the program for me was the very beginning when it asks you to clarify your vision; it is not as easy of a task as I imagined!
There is something about the exercise that pushes you to look deeper into the why; and when you can answer the why you have a solid foundation.
This program not only taught me how to approach getting a career abroad, but how to approach many other dreams in my life.
This program is the best investment you can make in yourself if you are truly committed to a career abroad.
It is critical for professional athletes to have coaches, for successful scientists to have mentors in their field, and it should be no different for you!
Even if we’re doing all we know, we can still fall short of our goal because we don’t have the experience and insights that a coach has.
And Lynze is that coach for careers abroad.
